Help us add new music by Black composers to the double bass canon. Your contributions mean more pieces, more concerts, more workshops, and more meaningful connections.

Why Support BPBC?

More works for bass by Black Composers may seem like a drop in the bucket when it comes to systemic racism. Every new work that we are able to fund means more work for our composers: not only do we offer competitive grants, but composers are further supported by a monthly distribution of funds accrued from score donations as well as new connections and networks.

Am I just funding new works?

BPBC is dedicated to not only funding new works, but exploring and battling the larger systemic issues surrounding Black Composers and Performers in classical music. Such projects include educational outreach presentations at Universities and Conservatories across the United States, and social and community building events for our Composers and Performers.

Want to support our past composers?

Visit our Score Page to select one or more of our commissioned scores. The suggested donation amount is split 70/30 in the composer’s favor after checkout.
